Finding accommodation as an international student
Finding accommodation is an important step in organising your mobility: different options exist depending on your status.
Visale: deposit and rental guarantees
A guarantor is a person who undertakes to pay your rent if you can no longer afford to do so. In France, French or foreign people who wish to rent a flat are almost always asked for a guarantor. The VISALE rental deposit allows people who do not have a guarantor in France or in Europe to provide an equivalent guarantee for the landlord.
Housing benefits from the CAF
Your CAF can grant you various types of financial assistance: social housing allowance (Als), family housing allowance (Alf) or personalised housing assistance (Apl). You can run a simulation on the CAF website and find a wealth of information on their "Vies de famille" portal. The CMI (Center of International Mobility) can provide assistance if you need help with the CAF.
